I create from a place of expression through the meticulous contemplation of tangential relationships contained within the broad stroke of lived experience. What transpires is the creation of beautifully crafted functional objects which find themselves, premeditatedly, at odds with stagnant dogmas in an effort to abstain from status quo. I create objects which provided utilitarian capabilities while simultaneously challenging notions of the contemporary.

Created in the wake of Helene. An effort to reflect on the catastrophe of the landscapes and souls most dear to me. The molten metal serves as a metaphor for earth’s fickle nature as waters flow unfettered from their arbitrary bounds carving out new pockets of loss. Where once sublime overlooks greeted contemplative eyes now lays a thick blanket of sludge and graves of fallen timber. Beauty transmuted to formlessness. Yet within this apparent dissolution we are reminded that destruction carries within itself a seed of renaissance. The catastrophe presented  is not simply devastation but invitation to participate in creation, to sculpt from formlessness. Not a restoration of what was but perhaps an incarnation of greater harmonic and aesthetic transcendence.  As nature does most often in her cyclical nature, we are reminded that impermance serves as both wound and bandage. What often appears as endings conceals itself within the possibility of a more magnificent start.

In our fast paced world where digital experiences increasingly dominate our lives, physical mementos remain as anchors to our personal narratives. Our most meaningful possessions acknowledge that these objects collectively sculpt a portrait of who we are. It recognizes that in understanding what we choose to remain with we are better informed of ourselves. It is not merely furniture but a framework for ongoing personal archaeology. A vessel through which we can excavate examine and celebrate the tangible evidence of our unique human journey.

We expect so much from our objects. They tend to us at our beckon call, I can only imagine how exauhsting that must feel. But durring the moments of unuse, how do our objects spend there time? Where do they go, while you are away?
